Sunset Bliss Quilt Pattern
Grab your shades and sunscreen! The Sunset Bliss quilt pattern is now available HERE!
Sunset Bliss is the second pattern of the Wonder Years series, a childhood-inspired collection of four minimalist patterns designed to reflect the simpler times. As with the Golden State pattern series (Balboa Island, Mammoth Lakes, Metropolis, and Eastern Sierra), each pattern focuses on a different piecing technique!
INSIDE THE PATTERN
In true XOXSEW fashion, Sunset Bliss comes with options, offering you three sizes AND three designs. Prefer for the sun to rise? Want to highlight the sun? Make it a moon? Go for it! Print-at-home templates are included along with clear instructions, lots of diagrams, and video tutorials to walk you through curve sewing.
WHAT FABRICS TO USE + KITS
I made multiple samples of Sunset Bliss quilts using similar color palettes because I couldn’t decide on my fave. Throw size kits for this subtler version are available at Sewing Arts!
Fabricworm has baby size kits for this beauty using the Dreamer collection!
I used Kona for the cover version but you can find throw size quilt kits at Stacked Fabric Co. featuring Bella Solids.
Smaller curves tend to be trickier than its bigger counterparts and the only reason why I bumped the skill level to advanced beginner. BUT if you’re new to curves, this is a great skill-builder!
ABOUT THE PATTERN
Sunset Bliss was inspired by the good ol’ days of playing outside until it got too dark to see the ball flying toward you. It was a brief period in my sheltered upbringing where I got to play outside with the neighbors so it’s one of my fondest childhood memories. My family had only one baseball mitt to share (my brother’s) at that time. As the only leftie in my family, I got pretty good at throwing with my right hand ;)
