Eastern Sierra II Bed Size Testers
The Eastern Sierra II pattern featuring bed sizes is finally available HERE! August 5th marks the day the design was first released so to continue the celebration of its birthday, allow me to show you some other bed size versions created by the testers!
I may have said this before but it bears repeating: seeing other people’s versions is one of my favorite parts of pattern writing. The team who volunteered to try out the bed size version of Eastern Sierra are a wonderful group of quilters. Please check them out and give them a follow on Instagram!
Jessica of @makeitsewquiltco tackled the king size version of the pattern! 😱 Since there’s plenty of room to trim the top to your desired size, she decided to omit the top border, making it a beautiful, generous quilt for her low king size frame.
Ok, let’s talk about Daphne of @octopurse for a second because it’s been a few weeks and yet I still haven’t processed how she was able to make this happen. So my pal volunteered to make this gorgeous road version of the bed size. NEXT, she hand quilted the whole thing. THEN, she went ahead and made a matching baby size Eastern Sierra quilt. Then, wait for it…she hand quilted that, too. As if that wasn’t enough, she took both tops to an adventure, which is no easy feat because have you tried taking bed size quilts for an outdoor shoot? I’ve tried multiple times and let me tell you, it’s a challenge!
Speaking of outdoor shots, Chelsea of @sewaddicting somehow managed to take this beauty on a windy day and she knocked this one out of the park! She opted for the road version as well and contrasted the light road with a dark fabric for the ground. Sigh, I want to go to there.
Paige @paigekibbey made a delightful river version using greens and yellows. Look at that smooth river flow! I Iove how this version instantly reminded me of a family road trip where we drove past a field of yellow flowers!
Last, but not at least, we’ve got my pal Alissa @alissalovestoquilt , who whipped it up the first test months ago and then finished it off with some incredible free motion quilting! Yeah, I stared at it with heart eyes for a while, too.
